Legal · Terms
Plain-English terms for reading the Firehose and, if you choose, subscribing to the weekly dispatch.
[PLACEHOLDER] Demo copy. Final terms will be reviewed by counsel before launch.
The Firehose is a weekly civic dispatch published by CivicTide, a project of SeaFor, a Washington 501(c)(4) social welfare organization. The site is provided free of charge, on an as-is basis, for civic-information purposes.
We work to be accurate and link to primary sources for every claim. We are not infallible. Corrections are published in the dispatch and the archive. If you believe something we published is wrong, write to press@civictide.org.
The Firehose covers Seattle City Council legislation. We are not your lawyer, your accountant, or your campaign consultant. Coverage of a bill is not advice on how to act on it.
The Firehose does not endorse, oppose, or rate candidates in any active race. See the firewall section of the About page for the full c4/PAC posture.
You may read, link to, and quote the Firehose freely with attribution. Wholesale republication of dispatches without permission is not authorized. Automated scraping that imposes a meaningful load on our servers will be rate-limited.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be flagged in a dispatch and dated here.
